I think you were right...only a computer geek could UNDERSTAND it. No matter what it was suppoesd to be, I can totally relate to his parents!
Eric: In comp sci, trees and heaps are technical terms for data structures, and would be drawn like they are in the comic lol!

And for the record, that comic is xkcd and I've read every one since the beginning. I understand about 80%. I admit, I didn't get this one.
One of the cool things about the comic is that if you read it on their site (or via google reader), you can hover your mouse over the comic for an addition punch line that I also understand about 80% of the time.
